A lot of people did a double-take this past April when the 11,500-person Market Force survey of foodservice brands tapped a relatively small Midwest buffet-based pizza brand, Pizza Ranch, as the nation’s favorite pizza restaurant. But Pizza Ranch Director of Operations Al Pottebaum said that while the distinction was a wonderful surprise, leaders at the chain know better than most how absolutely rabid their fan base is.
